Charlotte County FMNP Regional Chapter

FMNP facilitators: Jamie Reynolds

Mission statement:
Creating an active community of Master Naturalists working together to enrich our understanding of Florida's natural world through continuing education and cooperative sharing of collective experiences, resources and ideas. Established May 6, 2006 at the Naples Preserve.

Hikes and paddles we have enjoyed in the past include:

  • Birding at Harns Marsh
  • Paddling Prairie Creek
  • A swamp walk at Footprints Trail at Babcock State Preserve
  • Paddling Fisheating Creek

We have also offered two first aid/CPR classes for trail and paddle guides.

A group of alumni have also created an outstanding trail at Footprints on the Babcock State Preserve. In cooperation with Babcock Ranch and Florida Forestry the group maintains the trail which is inundated with water up to 12” during the summer rainy season.

Volunteer opportunities are varied and numerous and have included judging a science fair, manning a booth at the Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival, and identifying invasives at Harborwalk in Punta Gorda.

Please contact Jamie Reynolds with ideas for outings or for a volunteer work day.
