FMNP Teacher Scholarship

The Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) Teacher Scholarship is available to certified Florida teachers who are currently employed by a public or private K-12 school. Scholarships awarded will cover the entire cost of one FMNP core module or special topics course. Scholarships will be awarded semi-annually on a first-come, first-serve basis in each of the 8 geographic regions recognized by the program (regional boundaries can be viewed here). The number of scholarships awarded in each region each year will be dependent on funding.

The names of scholarship awardees will be published on the FMNP website.

Who can apply:

Certified Florida teachers currently employed in a public or private K-12 school.

How to apply:

Interested parties must submit the following items by the application deadline to be considered:
1) a completed application form
2) a copy of their certification
3) a letter of recommendation from the principal of the school where he/she is employed

Applications must be submitted online at the FMNP website. Recommendation letters must be signed and dated, and can be scanned and emailed to (no faxing please).

Application Deadlines:

Applications for scholarships awarded in January will be accepted from July 1st through December 31st.

Applications for scholarships awarded in July will be accepted from January 1st through June 30th.

Award Acceptance

Applicants awarded a scholarship will be notified by telephone or email by the FMNP Program Coordinator.

Awardees must register for the course of their choice within 6 months from the date the scholarship is awarded. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
