Core Courses

The FMNP has three Core Courses. Each core course provides 40 contact hours of classroom learning, field trips, and practical experience. The registration fees include a PDF version of the class manual, and for an additional cost, a printed version. Fees also include, upon completion, FMNP certificate, patch, and pin denoting area of expertise.

Graduates who choose to complete all three Core courses will become certified Florida Master Naturalists and will receive a Master Naturalist pin. The FMNP does not provide university credit toward a degree-seeking program. Click below to download course descriptions of each Core course!


Land Steward Courses

The FMNP offers four Land Steward courses, designed to provide more detailed information and/or hands-on skills in specific subject areas. Each Land Steward course consists of 24 contact hours of classroom learning and hands on experience. The registration fees include a PDF version of the class manual, and for an additional cost, a printed version. Fees also include, upon completion, FMNP certificate, patch, and pin denoting area of expertise.

Graduates who complete these four courses are considered a Florida Master Naturalist Land Steward. Those who complete the 3 Core courses and 4 Land Steward courses are considered Advanced Florida Master Naturalists. Click below to download course descriptions of each Land Steward Course!


Restoration Courses

We are happy to introduce our new Restoration Courses. Each Restoration Course provides 24 contact hours of classroom learning and hands-on experience. The registration fees include a PDF version of the class manual, and for an additional cost, a printed version. Fees also include, upon completion, FMNP certificate, patch, and pin denoting area of expertise.

Graduates who complete at least 4 restoration courses will be considered a Restoration Florida Master Naturalist. The 4th course in the FMNP Restoration Series, Freshwater Restoration, was released in Fall 2023! Those who complete the 3 Core courses and 4 Restoration courses will be considered Advanced Florida Master Naturalists. Click below to download course descriptions of each Restoration Course!
